Luxottica Group Acquires Cole National Corporation

On October 4, 2004, Luxottica Group, the ultimate parent company of EyeMed Vision Care and ECPA, formally acquired Cole National Corporation. Luxottica Group believes that the business models of Cole National will be highly complementary to the organization, and the synergies generated will lead to growth in the retail, managed care, manufacturing and wholesale businesses. The integration plan, including plans for managed care entities EyeMed Vision Care and Cole Managed Vision, will be announced over the next few months. Additional information will be posted on our website as it becomes available. At this time, both organizations are operating as usual.

New Features for Plan Administrators!

ECPA plan administrators now have the ability to view details about their ECPA plans online.  If you are an ECPA plan administrator, are now able to:

  • Maintain enrollment data directly online
  • View and print invoices and associated rosters
  • Request ID cards
  • View member benefits
  • Locate providers associated with your plan
